The quantification algorithms for finding and integrating peaks in SCIEX software programs have improved significantly since the Analyst® software classic algorithm was introduced. Users of the SCIEX OS software will see two main advantages when integrating peaks with the new AutoPeak algorithm. The first advantage is improvements in peak selection and integration. Determination of the start and stop point of a peak and measuring the area of the peak is much more reliable and accurate with the newer algorithms. The second big improvement is in peak finding. Seemingly small retention time shifts, noise spikes and interfering peaks are more problematic when selecting peaks with the Analyst Software classic algorithm, while the newer algorithms like AutoPeak can adapt to these issues more automatically. The result is that the review of the data can be much faster and more automated. With less human intervention, the results are also less prone to bias.
