How Is a Hardware Profile Created in Simulation Mode with an Eksigent 4.x and Analyst TF Software?

The Eksigent software 4.x needs to be installed and configured to the correct Eksigent model. Below is an example: configure 425 model

Next, the drivers for the Eksigent software need to be registered. From the Windows Start Menu, click “Driver Configuration” under the Eksigent program folder.

Note: To register the driver, Analyst® software services must be stopped if they are still running in the background.

Next, open the Analyst software, and create a hardware profile. First, add the mass spectrometer in simulation mode; the exact instrument sim file needs to be selected.

For the Eksigent software, "Software Applications" must be selected from the drop down menu in the Create Hardware Profile screen. Then go to Setup Device, and select Gradient 1. Click on the simulate device check box. All of the components of the 425 LC must be added. In this example, gradient 1, gradient 2, loading pump, and the autosampler were all added.

The "Software Application" must be added and set up 4 times in the Hardware Profile for each component and set to simulation mode. After all the Eksigent components have been added, click ok. Then activate the hardware profile.
