Device Driver Error During Acquisition with Analyst® Software While Using a Shimadzu LC-40 System

Issue Description

While acquiring data with Analyst® 1.7.3 Software while using a Shimadzu LC-40 system, the run will intermittently fail, and the following error will appear: "Integrated System Shimadzu LC-40 Controller 0: ERROR: Operation failed. device driver exception."

There is also a separate error in the event logs at the same time: [DDISShimadzu] file=.\Commands.cpp, line=867, ERROR: Call vendor driver sxSet() failed, HRESULT=DDISSciexLCm_pVD->Set2(pMethodStorageUnk, pPretreatmentStorageUnk, (void*)&BatchParam, sizeof(BatchParam)) HRESULT = 80004005

 

Resolution

To resolve this issue, Hotfix1 for Analyst 1.7.3 software will need to be installed when it becomes available. Alternatively, change the LC method so that it is 0.1 min longer than the MS method.
