In SCIEX OS software, the audit trail will be archived when it reaches 20,000 records. A final archive record is added to the audit trail, and then the audit trail is saved with a name indicating the type of audit trail and the date and time. After which, a new audit trail is created. The first record in the new audit trail states that the previous audit trail has been archived, and specifies the path to the archived audit trail.
